GIZ is dedicated to empowering women within the media sector, encompassing different roles such as journalists, media managers, and editors. Our comprehensive program is designed to foster growth and empower independent media and capable media professionals, both women and men, through capacity building, tailored technical support, networking opportunities, and the facilitation of regional collaborations.

Furthermore, the initiative actively promotes gender-sensitive reporting among our media partners and supports reporting on crucial topics of public interest through gender lenses.

These partners, numbering 80 across the Western Balkans, exhibit a commitment to gender diversity and equal opportunities, with over half of their staff being women. In addition, at least 28 of these media partners are managed and led by women.

On March 8th, International Women's Day, we invite you to join us in amplifying the voices of five remarkable women from the Western Balkans. They are sharing insights into their invaluable contributions as both women and dedicated professionals in journalism and media management.
